SHE SAID:
We got the sad news that Val died at around 10am Canberra time today. It wasn’t unexpected but still coming to terms with it takes time.
We had a quiet day at the house, the weather wasn’t great, so it was easy just to stay in with the cats, the fire & our thoughts.
The family all connected on Facebook video in the evening, which I think was good for them all.

HE SAID:
Mum's latest stay in hospital was brief. She went to sleep last night, after being given morphine for pain and an anti-anxiety drug and just never woke up. Two of my sisters were with her while she slept. They nipped out to get coffee and returned to find that Mum and died just after they left. It was a lot quicker than expected, though not a surprise, as Mum had been quite unwell for a few months. It is a sad day. Lucky for me I had Varena with me. It really did help.
