It is the final tour with the Canberra mob today. We met up at the Wandoo NP, east of Perth, at 9am for a full day out. There were 7 of us convoying around to various locations. Orchids were found at every stop; I think 23 different varieties.
I left Bouvard at 6.30am & got back at 7pm, a big day even for me!

HE SAID:
I stayed in bed dozing until around 7:30 - a much better time for getting out of bed. I had plenty of tasks that I wanted to do, and no hurry, as long as I was done before the AFL semi-finals at lunchtime. My first potential chicken disaster of this house-sit happened when I entered one of the coops to retrieve a couple of eggs that had been laid on the floor instead of in the laying box. Why they do this I'll never know! Anyway, when I went in I must have scared the chooks enough that one of them must have pressed against the unlatched door, opening it enough that all 5 escaped into the outer yard. Four returned to the coop with some food as an encouragement, but one little bugger refused. I wasn't going to waste all day chasing a chook around the yard so gave up and returned a couple of times later in the day, eventually getting her locked away mid-afternoon, during a break in the footy. Also, I couldn't resist a little more chainsawing, but did other stuff as well.
