Saturday 23rd November

SHE SAID:

We had a fruitless orchid search in the morning but did go to new areas & saw some beasties. Sadly, we ran over a basking snake on the road, we couldn’t avoid it. We also saw Emus, a Racehorse Goanna, & I saw a Blue-Tongue Lizard, & a small mouse-like critter with big ears.

There was a burn I wanted to look in, but it was not orchid country. We decided to take the road down to Yeagarup Lake, just because we hadn’t been there before. The lake seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, between the bush & the sand dunes; odd.

We got back to the van for lunch & Geoff to watch the cricket. I headed out after a sandwich & was surprised at my success. A Snail still going, Slippers, a Karri Spider, & Blue Suns. The Cinnamon Bells were budding, surprisingly.

HE SAID:

I felt bad about the snake. It was right in our path, so I tried to avoid it but it moved. Not good.

The cricket is not going so well. After 17 wickets fell yesterday, which is a huge amount, we managed to be all out for 104. Then India made batting look easy.
