SHE SAID:
We headed for Boyup Brook today, our next 6-week house sit.
The owners weren’t home, but had left the house open for us to move in. We will have a heap of chickens to look after & collect eggs from. This place is a Bio-Dynamic Organic certification, which is why I guess they can charge $14 for a dozen eggs!
When Jacqueline returned we had a walkthrough of the property & jobs we are to do whilst here. Hopefully it will all run smoothly; it is not our usual type of house sit, but the timing suits us.

HE SAID:
We had no dramas getting to the Boyup Brook house-sit, with a stop in Manjimup for supplies, and elevenses. On arrival I was rather disappointed in the house, and also in the number of chickens, chicks, and associated potential jobs. There is also, apparently, a resident dugite (brown snake - venomous), big rats in large numbers (which the snake likes), quite a few (20?) sheep on the property (it is not known what our involvement with them will be), and a few wasp nests around the house. We had been told there would only be a few chooks, no chicks, and that it was all very simple. We'll just have to suck and see I guess, as being off the road over the silly season is why we are here.
While showing us around the chicken runs in the afternoon Jacqueline found a dead hen, and also a very poorly one, which Tim humanely dispatched, then buried them both under the compost heap.
We had Varena's very tasty spag bol for dinner!
