SHE SAID:
I woke just before 7am & we headed out to see Jacqueline for the morning run-through of the chicken routine. She left around 9am & we were here solo for the rest of the day till Tim turned up around 5pm. We asked a few questions & he too disappeared to the other farm.
All chickens seem to be accounted for, shut away for the night.
I managed to mistakenly “scalp” Geoff today. For some unknown reason I took off the “Number 1” clipper thinking it was a cover, so now Geoff is more of a nude nut than normal. Thankfully, he thought it was hilarious!

HE SAID:
When Varena said "Oh!" while cutting my hair I thought that she must have just thought of something mildly important. But no, she'd unthinkingly removed the comb I had put on the clippers and had cut about a quarter of my hair with just the naked shears when she noticed. It made me laugh out loud for a couple of minutes. She's the one that has to look at it!
I've decided that in looking after the chooks here that I will just make sure that they have shelter, food and water, and the rest will come what may. There was a lot of talking but few actual instructions, so in my head it is a simple process: let them out in the morning, food, water, put them in at dusk.
When we arrived yesterday there was half a huge bag of onions in the pantry, and we were told to help ourselves. Unfortunately, there was also a pong, so in the afternoon Varena went through the bag and threw a heap of them out, as they were off.
In the afternoon I tried to book the ute in for a service. My original thought was to get it done in Bunbury, so that we could see a movie or do something different while it was being completed. But, the Ford dealer there had no vacant slots until January! So, on searching for other places to get the job done I found that Manjimup has a Ford dealer, and Manjimup is a lot closer than Bunbury, and they could do it tomorrow. Cool.
